David Bendena (Jake Singer) Hyde in Hollywood is David's first show with Shattered Globe. Previous credits include Horst in Bent with C.i.T.A., Reverend Larence in Impossible Marriage with Foreground Theatre, Fenster in Birdsend at Mary-Arrchie and J.I. Allison in The Buddy Holly Story at the American Heartland Theatre in Kansas City. David has also understudied roles in Mariela in the Desert and The Story at the Goodman, and in Cradle of Man at Victory Gardens. Many thanks to AD and SG. XO to VLJB - You’re a Peach!


Don Blair (Charles Hock) has previously appeared with Shattered Globe in The Love of a Good Man, Judgment at Nuremberg (both productions), Meet John Doe and, most recently, The Price. Don has been working in Chicago since the early eighties, and has received the perhaps dubious distinction of having worked for twenty-five different companies in twenty-five years.


Michael Dailey (David Hogarth/Ensemble) is pleased to be working with the good folks at Shattered Globe for the first time. He is an ensemble member and Associate Artistic Director with Strawdog Theatre Company, where he was most recently seen in Marathon '33, directed by Shade Murray. Other work with Strawdog includes roles in Detective Story, Julius Caesar, HurlyBurly and Measure for Measure, among others. In addition, he has been fortunate to work with About Face, Steppenwolf, Eclipse, The Black Ensemble, Defiant, Writer's Theatre and Noble Fool Theatricals, to name a few. Michael holds a B.S. in Acting from Illinois State University and was a 1995-96 Steppenwolf Acting Fellowship recipient. He is currently studying improv and sketch comedy in the Second City Conservatory. He is the author of three radio plays which will be featured in Strawdog Radio Theatre, Program #7, opening on June 2nd.


Steve Key (Julian Hyde) finally gets back on the Shattered Globe stage after being away for a few years. Steve is an ensemble member and former co-artistic director of SGT. His performance credits with the company include Talk Radio and A View from the Bridge (Jeff Citations for supporting actor), as well as All My Sons and Coyote on a Fence (Jeff Citations for principal actor). Other stage credits include: Vigils, Zoo Story and Blue Surge at Goodman; The Libertine and As I Lay Dying at Steppenwolf; One Arm and Execution Of Justice with About Face Theatre; Hushabye Mountain and Mann Ist Mann at Famous Door; Grace at Northlight; Orpheus Descending at American Theater Company; Blue Surge at The Public Theatre, New York and Death of a Salesman at Geva Theatre, Rochester, NY. Film: 1,000 Acres and Three Days. Television: Law & Order - SVU, As The World Turns.


Nick Lewis (Ensemble) is excited be making his Shattered Globe debut. Most recently he was seen in Thief River at the side project and was heard on WBEZ’s Stories on Stage: Family Edition reading the children’s novel Frindle. Since graduating from Columbia College, Nick has had the opportunity to work with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Writers’ Theatre, Strawdog Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Lifeline Theatre, among others. Brian McCaskill (Hollywood Confidential) An ensemble member of Shattered Globe Theatre, Brian appeared in SGT’s productions of Dealer’s Choice and Judgment at Nuremberg, among others. He has also worked with Eclipse, Raven, Steppenwolf, TimeLine and WNEP Theater. He’s been in numerous commercials, industrials and independent films, in addition to principal roles on Prison Break and the upcoming film Fred Claus. Niall McGinty (Ensemble) is pleased to be in his first production with Shattered Globe Theatre. Recent Chicago credits include: Letters Home: Voices of American Troops from the Battlefields of Iraq (Griffin Theatre Company), The General from America (TimeLine Theatre Company), and Hecuba (Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Regional Credits include: Romeo and Juliet, The Play About the Baby, and Proof (Hippodrome State Theatre). Niall would like to thank his father, mother, and Kate for their continual support.


Stesha Merle (Ensemble) is very excited to be appearing in her first show with Shattered Globe. Theatre credits include Romeo and Juliet at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Museum for Appetite Theatre, The Game of Love and Chance as a guest artist at NIU, and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom at the New York Comedy Club. She has also understudied for Victory Gardens Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Silk Road Theatre Project. In addition, Stesha has appeared in dozens of commercials, as well as feature, independent and industrial films.


Helen Sadler (Lida Todd/Susan) most recently appeared in Blasted at A Red Orchid Theatre. She has spent the past few years training at Bristol University and The Poor School in London, appearing in shows at Edinburgh Fringe, Spoleto Festival, Soho Writer’s Theatre, Battereas Arts Centre and Workhouse Theatre, London. Since moving to Chicago last year she has worked with Provision Theatre, Strawdog and is excited to be making her Shattered Globe debut.


Walter Thon (Reynaldo Romero/Ensemble) was last seen as Paris in Chicago Dramatists’ Grande Hysterie. He has recently worked with Victory Gardens for Berlin ’45 and as Sam in Serendipity Theatre’s Girl, 20. Other professional Chicagoland credits include Bernardo in West Side Story (Wagon Wheel), Fred Casely/Dance Captain in Chicago (Pheasant Run), Cupid in The Eight Reindeer Monologues (Journeymen), and both Linus in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Barber in Man of La Mancha through Phoenix Ascending Theater, where he served as resident choreographer. He has also played Dromio of Ephesus in Comedy of Errors, Danceny in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Joshua/Gerry in Cloud 9, Darius in Jeffrey, and Paul in A Chorus Line. Walter has been seen in Hollywood Pictures’ Just Visiting, on Turks (CBS), in commercial and print (McDonalds, Armed Forces, etc.), and in several independent films touring festivals nationwide.


Kevin Viol (Florist/Martin/Ensemble) is happy to be making his third appearance with Shattered Globe, having previously appeared as Ronnie in The House of Blue Leaves and Carl in Dealer's Choice. He was most recently seen in TUTA's production of Tracks. Visit Kevin online at www.kevinviol.com


Eva Wilhelm (Betty Armstrong) is thrilled to be working on her first production with Shattered Globe. She has most recently been seen (or not seen, actually) understudying for the absurdly healthy women of Uncle Vanya and The Glass Menagerie at Court Theatre, and for Grace at Northlight Theatre. A founding member of Reverie Theatre Company, she has appeared as Varya, May, and Helen in their productions of The Cherry Orchard, Fool for Love, and All’s Well that Ends Well, respectively. Eva holds a degree in theatre from Northwestern University, and has appeared all around Chicago with such companies as Borealis, Boxer Rebellion, European Rep, Noble Fool, Rogue, and Stage Left, among others.



Andrea J. Dymond (Director) is thrilled to work with Shattered Globe for the first time. This season she directed world premiere productions of Court Martial at Fort Devens at Victory Gardens at the Biograph and Panther Burn for MPAACT at Victory Gardens’ Greenhouse, as well as Helen at Next Theatre. Other recent credits include: I Have Before Me A Remarkable Document Given To Me By A Young Lady From Rwanda, Shoes, and Free Man of Color at Victory Gardens, and Having Our Say at Madison Repertory Theater. Andrea has worked in new play development for most of her twenty-plus years in Chicago; was a recent TCG New Generations Grant recipient; Co-Artistic Director of American Blues Theater (now American Theater Company) and Artistic Associate at City Lit Theatre Company, where her directing work included the long-running production Coffee Will Make You Black. Currently, Andrea is Literary Manager and Resident Director at Victory Gardens Theater.


Judy Anderson (Production Stage Manager) joined SGT during its first year as an ensemble member and Resident Stage Manager. She has worked on every show in one aspect or another since SGT’s first production of Frozen Assets. She is most happy in the booth running sound and lights and thanks her fellow Globies for giving her the opportunity to do so whenever she wishes. Some favorite SGT shows include both productions of Frozen Assets, Talk Radio, God’s Country, The Love of a Good Man, The Manchurian Candidate, Peter Pan, Bondagers, All My Sons, Coyote on a Fence, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Of Mice And Men and, most recently, Come Back Little Sheba. Judy wishes to thank her family and friends for all their love and support over these many years. Peace.


Brian Pudil (Producer) is proud to be a founding member of SGT and currently serves as artistic director. He was last seen on stage as George in SGT’s critically acclaimed production of Of Mice and Men. He would like to thank Andi and the wonderful cast and crew of Hyde for their talent and passion towards the project. He is also ecstatic to have Steve back on the SGT stage. Special thanks to the SGT board and his family for all their love and support.


Elisa Spencer (Producer) joined the Shattered Globe ensemble as managing director in 2005, where she has since co-produced The Price, Come Back Little Sheba, Dealer’s Choice and The House of Blue Leaves. Elisa previously served as managing director of the Yale Cabaret in New Haven, CT where, under her leadership, the Cabaret presented seven world premiere productions, the American premiere of Sergei Dreznin’s Ophelia: opera in blue, and a concert series by renowned Czech musician Iva Bittová. She has also held positions as company manager for Yale Repertory Theatre, as production coordinator for Skylark Opera (formerly North Star Opera), as founding producer of now-defunct New York troupe The Suitcase Players, and in marketing and management for New York’s Second Stage Theatre. Elisa was the recipient of the Guthrie Theater’s 2001-2002 Rea Management Fellowship. She serves on the Board of Directors of the League of Chicago Theatres. Elisa holds a B.A. in English from Carleton College and an M.F.A. in theater management from Yale School of Drama.


Kevin Hagan (Scenic Designer/Production Manager) is a graduate of the College of Design at Louisiana State University, and received a M.F.A. in scenic design from the Theatre School, DePaul University. In addition to designing scenery, Kevin enjoys photography, painting and lighting design. Kevin was a founding member of TimeLine Theatre Company, and is enjoying his ninth season as an ensemble member and the resident scenic designer at Shattered Globe Theatre. Recent Chicago credits include Come Back, Little Sheba and The Price for Shattered Globe Theatre; Fiorello! for TimeLine Theatre Company; Bach at Leipzig for Writer’s Theatre; and Blues for an Alabama Sky for Eclipse Theatre Company. Kevin has received six Jeff nominations for his design work and received a Jeff Citation for The Lower Depths at Shattered Globe Theatre. Who is John Galt?


Brenda Winstead (Costume Designer) is happy to be returning to Shattered Globe for her second show. She previously designed costumes for The Price. She is a founding member of a dreaming experiment theatre company, where she has designed theatre I, The Shadow Box, and Wasp. Her other design work includes The Mousetrap (Peninsula Players); Mother Courage and Her Children, Waiting for Godot, and the world premiere of Jonah's Dream by William Gibson (Connecticut Repertory Theatre); Defying Gravity and A Duet for One (Miniature Theatre of Chester.) She is currently the costume design assistant for Chicago Shakespeare Theater. She has a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Connecticut.


Shelley Strasser Holland (Lighting Designer) has enjoyed being a member of Shattered Globe Theatre since 1993 and has designed productions including House of Blue Leaves, Judgment at Nuremberg, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Talk Radio, The Dresser, The Manchurian Candidate, A Streetcar Named Desire and All My Sons. Shelley recently designed Oklahoma and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for The Center in Munster, Indiana. Other design credits include The Full Monty at the Drury Lane Water Tower, The Threepenny Opera and Stalag 17 for American Theater Company; Tartuffe and The Velveteen Rabbit at Indiana University Northwest. Shelley received her M.F.A. in Theatre Design from Northwestern University. In addition to her life in the arts, she is an aerobics instructor and mom to Katie and Mary Holland! Thanks so much Bruce for all of your love and support (and time off from work!)


Mike Tutaj (Sound & Video Designer) has been designing sound and video in Chicago theater for the last 8 years. He has designed for Barrel of Monkeys (of which he is a company member), TimeLine Theatre Company (where he is an artistic associate), Serendipity, the Hypocrites, The Neo-Futurists, American Theater Company, Teatro Vista, Steep Theater, Noble Fool Theatricals, the Bailiwick, and many others. Mike earned a B.S. in Music from DePaul University, and spends the better part of the week paying it off as the audio/video engineer at the Hadley School for the Blind, where his video work is not as regarded.
